Three injured in multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 57

Three people were sent to the hospital in multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 57, according to Illinois State Police.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when a 37-year-old man was traveling southbound on the roadway when he was struck by a 44-year-old male driver. The 37-year-old man was driving a crash truck that is used to paint stripes on the road and was struck head on by the other man.

The 44-year-old man’s Volvo was pushed off of the side of the road and the crash truck came to stop on the shoulder. A man reading a road map than struck the truck and another man struck that car. The current condition if the injured victims are unknown and the accident is still under investigation.
