Tax Day study shows increase in fatal accidents

A study was recently done by a team of researchers that analyzed data from the fatal car crashes on Tax Day for the past 30 years. Results from this showed that the number of fatal car crashes is higher on Tax Day than any other day of the month.

Researchers shows that the number of crashes on this day over the 30 year period is at 6,783. When averaged out per tax day, this total out till 226 per Tax Day, compared to other days of the month when the average was found to be 213.

Officials in the study think that this could be because people are under stress because of the day and more human error occurs. Officials also stated that the reckless driving may also be because people are racing to the post office to meet the deadline.
