A semi-trailer accident on Interstate 65 resulted in a fire that engulfed two vehicles and took the life of one man.
According to Indiana State Police, the accident occurred as a 23-year-old man from Chicago was unable to stop when traffic backed up on the Interstate. He then collided with another truck that was carrying petroleum products and paint.
This vehicle then caught fire and it spread to the other truck as well. The driver in the truck that initiated the accident, was killed as a result. The roads were closed for more than five hours while crews cleared the scene and cleaned the spilled fluids. Police have said that the other driver was not injured.
Our deepest condolences are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
