Postal worker killed in Illinois head-on collision

A postal worker was recently killed in an accident after the vehicle he was driving slammed head-on with another vehicle on southwest of Chicago, KWQC reported on October 31.

According to Will County Coroner’s office, the fatality was identified as Daniel McGuire, 48. Authorities said on October 30 McGuire’s mail truck lost control and crashed head-on with a water truck after crossing the median lane near Joliet. The postal worker reportedly died at the accident site. Authorities were puzzled over how McGuire lost control of his truck. The driver of the other vehicle, only identified as a 32-year-old man, was not hurt in the accident. The U.S. postal truck was inspected by the Illinois State Motor Carrier Safety Division.
