Man hurt in Elgin house blast

One person was recently injured after their home in Elgin exploded, an article in the Daily Herald stated on September 16.

Reports said fire crews responded to a residential blast at Morningside Drive around 9:00 p.m. September 15. Nearby residents believe the blast was caused by a natural gas leak. The lone resident, who was not identified, was brought to Advocate Sherman Hospital after responding fire crews found him outside the destroyed house. Officials stated that the estimated cost of the damage is around $150,000. Authorities are investigating the cause of the residential blast.
