Illinois man convicted of sixth DUI charge

An Illinois was recently convicted of his sixth DUI and was sentenced to 12 years in prison as a result.

According to Illinois officials, the 55-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Once released, he will face mandatory supervision for three years on top of another year of supervision for driving while his license was revoked.

The man’s first DUI occurred in the 1970s and the most current conviction was his sixth. Another DUI arrest is currently pending in another county at this time. The man was arrested after police clocked him traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Once pulled over, it was found that he had a blood alcohol level of .112.
