Four vehicle collision in Iroquois County leaves 1 dead and at least 2 injured

A four-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning on Illinois 1 in Iroquois County resulted in the death of an Indiana man. At least two others were transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to authorities, the 75-year-old victim was stopped at a red light at an intersection on County Road 500 when a semi-trailer failed to stop and struck his vehicle from behind, pushing him into the intersection. His vehicle was struck by both a car and a minivan that were headed southbound in the intersection. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the semi-trailer was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
