Charges filed against Red Bud woman in fatal drunk driving crash

Several charges were filed against a Red Bud female resident in relation to a fatal drunk driving accident in January that left two people dead, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on May 27.

Reports revealed that charges of reckless homicide and a second felony charge of drunk driving were filed against 20-year-old Crystal Steinheimer. Hannah Porter, 20, reportedly was a passenger of Steinheimer when their vehicle veered into the opposite lane of Illinois Route 159 and crashed into an oncoming vehicle operated by Abigail Liefer, 19. A maximum of 28 years of imprisonment awaits Steinheimer if she is found guilty of the charges filed against her.
