I was injured on the job, never had anything happened like this in my life. I jumped through all the hoops a company can make you do. In the end it was suffering on top of suffering and finally surgery. I was very reluctant to seek legal help, didn't know if I was entitled to compensation in the matter. I can't express enough how happy I was I made the call to Spiros Law. Even during this time of pandemic they made everything a piece of cake. Mr Purcell is highly professional, extremely law knowledgeable and overall a very freindly and down to earth person. He helped me in my case 100%. In the end like I said if you are unsure about legal injury help please don't hesitate and call for Andrew Purcell. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and thank you again personally.

Andrew – AVVO

Miranda was able to fix everything without me having to stress too much about it - which was amazing due to me still being in college. Miranda took care of everything.

I was very pleased with my experience at Spiros Law. Initially I didn't know how to proceed, what to say, or who to talk to. They were very helpful and from then on I was able to contact the same person with any question or concern. I was well treated through the entire process, and that is important to me.

Spiros Law – Lawyers.com

Andrew did an excellent job on my case when I was in a car accident last year. I was injured and couldn't drive to meet with him so he came to me and always kept me in the loop with what was going on. He is very professional, responsive, and made things as easy for me as possible.

WHAT SHOULD I Do If I've Been Injured?

Border logo

If you or a loved one has been injured, your priority should be to receive medical attention as soon as possible. It's essenial not only for the health of you or your loved one --many injuries require immediate attention to prevent further damage but it's also important for the prospects of your legal case.

To win a case, you must prove that your injuries were caused by someone else's negligence. This might include bodily injury, pain and suffering, or the cost of treatment. However, it's difficult to prove damages without official records. Unless you see a medical professional soon after your injury, you might miss an important window in which you can obtain medical records proving that the negligence directly caused you harm. Keep in mind that the facts of some injuries might not manifest themselves for days, weeks or months after the incident, so you should see a doctor after your accident even if you don't notice anything wrong.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE INJURED

If you have been injured in an accident, your first concern should be your health and safety. After an accident, you should:

  • Seek medical attention. Even if you feel like your injures are not serious, you should still seek medical attention. It’s important to remember that injuries are not always visible and they don’t always exhibit symptoms right away. Over time, brain injuries and other internal injuries, for example, can worsen and lead to lifelong disabilities or even death. Furthermore, if you don’t seek medical attention promptly, the compensation amount available can be significantly reduced.
  • File a report with police. Your personal injury case, your compensation, and your health depend on filing a police report. Your health and economic well-being may be negatively impacted if you do not take proper steps. For this reason, don’t hesitate to file a police report because it will help your injury claim.
  • Be careful when speaking to others following the accident. If you are unsure about what has occurred, it’s best to keep quiet and wait for the police and emergency medical professionals to arrive at the scene. Speaking about the accident could be used against you by an insurance company. It’s generally best to let the evidence speak for itself. A lawyer can ensure that your story is told with accuracy and the facts are presented in the best manner possible. This is how you will get the justice and compensation you deserve.
  • Keep track of all medical bills and expenses associated with your injuries. Keep a record of all expenses and costs that relate to the accident, including doctor appointments, how you feel, your sleep patterns, lost wages, and more. Any relevant info that you are able to document will help you receive fair compensation.
  • Don’t sign anything before first consulting with an attorney. Insurance companies will use tricky tactics that pressure accident victims into settling. They may ask you to sign forms and if you sign them, you’re signing away your rights away to take the case to court. They want you to sign the document so that things can be in their favor. Don’t do it.
  • Don’t settle without the help of an attorney. Insurance companies typically always have a team of lawyers because legal representation is essential, and they know that. It is wise to have an attorney present during negotiations. With the help of a Danville personal injury lawyer, you will be able to negotiate a full and fair settlement that covers all your past, present, and future expenses related to your injuries.
