Family of fatal bicycle accident victim in Chicago files lawsuit

The family of the “Divvy” biker killed in a truck accident last month filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against the truck driver and its employer, an article of Chicago Tribune reported on August 1.

According to the family, A&B Flooring Supplies Inc. and its employee Cosmin Radu are liable for the July 1 accident that killed Divvy rider Virginia Murray, 25. Radu, who was driving a flatbed truck at the time, was accused of negligence for striking Murray in the north lane of Sacramento Avenue. Reports revealed that there were no dedicated bike lanes in the area where the accident happened. The legal counsel representing the Murray family said that they are not planning to file a lawsuit against the bike-sharing company.
