Prestone recalls products that fail childproofing standard
Approximately 4.1 million Prestone products in the U.S. are being recalled after its trigger spray units failed to pass the childproofing standard.
Reports said the atomizer units of the “Ice & Frost Shield” and “Windshield De-Icer” products can be removed by children. Children are at risk of being poisoned if they are exposed to the hazardous chemicals contained in the products. No one was reportedly injured by the products before the recall was issued. To prevent accidental poisoning, consumers are advised to store Prestone products away from children’s sight and notify the company for a replacement of the atomizer. The atomizer replacement will lock permanently after screwing the neck shroud.
Sadly, many children suffer from serious or fatal injuries in accidents caused by poorly made products.
