10 illnesses associated with Blue Bell Creameries contamination

A federal agency recently stated that there were at least ten recorded illnesses, including three deaths, associated with the recent Blue Bell Creameries recall, Fox News reported on April 22.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported two recent illnesses that occurred in Arizona and Oklahoma. Previous numbers included eight people in Texas and Kansas who fell ill due to listeria contamination. According to the company, they are coordinating with federal agencies to find out the cause of contamination and are thoroughly reconstructing their safety procedures to prevent contaminated products from being released in the future.

An estimated 8 million gallons of Blue Bell products are currently being recalled due to listeriosis contamination that can cause illnesses in people with weak immune systems, as well as pregnant women, newborns, and the elderly.
