Popular ice cream brand has specific flavor recalled

The Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, chocolate nougat crunch, has been recalled by Unilever PLC.

The recall comes after an allergen advisory label was found to be missing from the labels of these ice cream pints. The statement that was supposed to be on these containers should have mentioned the fact that the wafers included in the ice cream were produced using the same equipment that handles nut products.

As of now, no serious injuries have been reported due to this manufacturing mistake. Unilever PLC did reveal that individuals with severe peanut allergies could potentially suffer from a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the ice cream that was not properly labeled. Replacement coupons will be issued to consumers who purchased the recalled pints.
