Nearly 800 bags of salad recalled after salmonella scare

Just under 800 bags of salad were recalled after it was thought that they may have been contaminated with salmonella.

The recalled products, Dole Food Co.’s Seven Lettuces, were distributed in multiple states across the nation including Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin and New York.

The recall was made after a random sample testing was done and found the salmonella contamination. All recalled bags of salad has a recall date of April 11, 2011 and this number can be found in the upper left hand corner of the bag. Food safety officials have stated that consumers who have these salad bags should toss them out.
