Man faces DUI charges in connection with two-car crash

A 23-year-old man is facing charges of driving under the influence after a two-car accident that occurred in November that killed one man.

According to police officials, a man has now been charged in connection to the crash and faces a count of aggravated driving under the influence and causing bodily harm. He was also driving with no insurance.

The collision occurred just east of Georgetown when the man was driving west on Mill Road and he lost control of the car causing it to go into a ditch before going airborne and landing in the cab of a truck that was stopped at the intersection’s traffic light.

The man who was driving the truck died of injuries sustained in the crash. A passenger in the front seat was also injured and transported to the hospital as a result. The 23-year-old driver faces 14 years in prison and other fines if found guilty.
