Driver cited after rollover accident on Interstate 57

The driver of a semi-truck has been cited for improper lane usage after a rollover accident occurred on Interstate 57.

According to police officials, the accident occurred as the 36-year-old man said that he was traveling northbound down the roadway when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer and this caused the man to lose control of the semi-truck. Police have stated that the man’s speed caused the vehicle to flip over.

The semi was carrying 8,000 pounds of furniture when the accident occurred. The interstate was closed afterward so that emergency crews could clear the scene and traffic was routed to Route 17.The driver was transported to the hospital in order to be treated.
