Researchers analyzed nearly 12,000 drivers and discovered that nearly 48 percent of do not use their blinker when driving. Of this group, almost half of them (42 percent) stated that they do not have time while driving to use their turn signals.
The other 23 percent stated that they are “too lazy” and do not feel like using a turn signal. This data supports an earlier study done in 2006 and showed similar results. It is a law to use a turn signal while turning, changing lanes, and passing another vehicle. The failure to use turn signal results in two million accidents across the nation each year.
