The driver of a small car was injured after being involved in a car accident on Route 251.
According to authorities, the 53-year-old woman was driving south on Route 251 when the car left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit a ditch.
After the woman hit the ditch, the car then rolled across the County Highway 23 and landed in another ditch before coming to stop. The woman had to be extricated from the car and was rushed to the hospital in Peoria by helicopter. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
