New Illinois law allows markers at fatal accident spots

Posted on August 19th, 2010 No Comments

Families in Illinois who have lost a family member in a car accident will now be able to memorialize their loved ones by putting a marker in the spot where the accident occurred.

This new program now allows the family to purchase signs from the Department of Transportation and then they will install them near the spot of the accident.

Many families make their own markers and put them on the side of the road and they are left there as long as they are not too distracting for drivers. Illinois already has a similar law for victims of drunk driving accidents.
